TELEPHONE ACCESS TO THE SURGERY
The recent patient survey has shown that the one area of most concern for patients is accessing the surgery by telephone. The main problem seems to be getting through to the practice first thing in the morning. You can help us by telephoning after 10.30am for routine matters.
We fully appreciate that patients who have felt unwell the previous night or wake up feeling unwell want to contact the surgery at the earliest opportunity to arrange contact with a doctor. We are confident that the appointments system that we operate for urgent matters which need to be dealt with the same day will accommodate all urgent patients and nobody will be denied access to this system.
For routine matters, patients can book appointments up to 4 weeks in advance. The timing of the next available routine appointment does vary depending on a number of factors including demand for appointments, other commitments of the doctors, and the time of year.
Thank you for your co-operation.
Appointment Reminders
Text or voice mail reminders will be sent to patients over 18 for routine appointments with the doctors 24 hours before an appointment. Please help us by providing mobile phone numbers. If you would prefer not to receive reminders, please let the reception staff know.
Appointment Cancellations
Please note that you can now cancel appointments by email. Please send your name and date of birth to monkspathcancellations@nhs.net. Please give us as much notice as possible so the appointment can be offered to another patient. If you have more than one appointment booked, please let us know which you wish to cancel.
